Ghoulz Competition — Official Competition Rules
1. SPONSOR AND AGREEMENT TO THESE RULES
1.1 The Ghoulz Competition (the “Competition”) is sponsored and administered by Playo Ltd. (“Playo”, “Sponsor”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
1.2 The Competition is conducted through the Playo game (the “Game”), a browser-based game played in a web browser on a computer (including desktop, laptop or tablet) and mobile devices. The Game is not distributed through the Apple App Store, the Google Play Store or any other app marketplace, and no download or installation is required. References to accessing or playing the Game mean accessing it at https://games.playo.ai/ghoulz/lobby in a supported browser.
1.3 By registering, each participant (and, where the participant is a minor, their parent or legal guardian) accepts and agrees to be bound by these Official Competition Rules (these “Rules”), the Playo Terms of Service and the Ghoulz Competition Privacy Policy, each as in effect at the time of registration and as updated from time to time. Where these Rules conflict with the Terms of Service in respect of the Competition, these Rules control.
1.4 The version of these Rules accepted by a participant, and the date and time of acceptance, are recorded by Playo and are determinative in the event of a dispute.
1.5 Sponsor's decisions are final. All decisions regarding eligibility, scoring, ranking, verification, disqualification and prize award are made at Sponsor’s sole determination based on the criteria set out herein and are final and binding, subject to any non-waivable rights a participant may have under applicable law.
1.6 The Competition is intended to operate as a skill-based competition. No purchase or payment is necessary to enter, compete or win, and no purchase or payment will improve a participant’s chance of winning.
2. COMPETITION PERIOD
2.1 The Competition runs for eight calendar days, beginning on Sunday, 10/04/2026 at 02:00 PM UTC and ending on Sunday, 10/11/2026 at 02:00 PM UTC (the “Competition Period”).
2.2 All times in these Rules are Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). This includes map availability windows, the close of the Competition, score timestamps used for tie-breaking, and all response deadlines.
2.3 Sponsor's server clock is the official timekeeping device. Score events, map completions and entries are recorded and evaluated by reference to Sponsor's servers, not to any participant's device or browser clock.
2.4 Sponsor may extend, shorten, suspend, modify or cancel the Competition Period where required by law, or where technical failure, fraud or any cause beyond Sponsor's reasonable control corrupts or impairs the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Competition. Notice will be given through the Ghoulz official pages at https://www.youtube.com/@GhoulzGaming (“Ghoulz Channel”).
3. ELIGIBILITY — TERRITORY
3.1 Open territory with exclusions. Subject to Sections 3.2 and 3.3, the Competition is open to natural persons who are legal residents of, and physically located in, any jurisdiction in which the Competition is lawful.
3.2 Excluded Jurisdictions. The Competition is not open to, and no prize will be awarded to, any person resident in or located in an Excluded Jurisdiction. Registrations from Excluded Jurisdictions are void. There are two categories.
(a) Sanctions and high-risk jurisdictions. Excluded for trade, sanctions and compliance reasons:
|
Iran · Cuba · North Korea (DPRK) · Syria · Sudan · South Sudan · Lebanon The Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine |
(b) Jurisdictions excluded for prize-promotion regulatory reasons. Each of these imposes registration, prior authorisation, bonding, notarisation, prize-value caps or mandatory-translation requirements that Playo is not resourced to satisfy for an eight-day competition:
|
Quebec (Canada), Italy, Brazil, Mexico, India, Mainland China, Belgium, Greece, Turkey |
3.3 Sanctions screening. No prize will be awarded to any person subject to applicable trade or economic sanctions, or appearing on any applicable restricted-party or denied-party list. Sponsor may screen Potential Winners against such lists before confirming an award.
3.4 The Competition is void wherever prohibited by law. Sponsor reserves the right to exclude any additional jurisdiction where participation, the prize structure, or prize delivery would be unlawful or impractical, and will publish any such exclusion at https://www.youtube.com/@GhoulzGaming .
3.5 Determining location. The Game is browser-based and not distributed through an app store, so no store-region or billing-country signal is available. Sponsor determines location from IP-based geolocation and the country declared at registration, and may require documentary proof of residence at the winner-verification stage under Section 15. Any attempt to disguise or misrepresent location, including by VPN or proxy, is a ground for disqualification under Section 18.
3.6 Employees, officers, directors, contractors and agents of Sponsor and of its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, prize suppliers and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling, and their respective spouses) and household members of each, are not eligible to win a prize.
4. ELIGIBILITY — AGE AND PARENTAL CONSENT
4.1 Minimum age. The Competition is open only to persons who are aged 13 years or older, or such higher minimum age as applicable in their country of residence, at the time of registration. Children under 13 may not register for or participate in the Competition and are not eligible for any prize, and nor may anyone below the higher age that applies in their country. A person below the applicable age may still play the Game as a Guest under Section 5.1, without entering the Competition and without prize eligibility.
4.2 No collection of children's data. Because persons below the applicable minimum age cannot enter, Sponsor does not knowingly collect Competition registration data from them. If Sponsor learns that a registration belongs to a person below the applicable age, the registration is voided, the associated data is deleted, and no prize is awarded.
4.3 Categories of participant.
- Minor Participant — a participant who meets the applicable minimum age under Section 4.1 but has not reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence.
- Adult Participant — a participant who has reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence.
4.4 Parental consent for Minor Participants. A Minor Participant must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to enter the Competition and to accept any prize. Sponsor may additionally require direct parent/guardian confirmation and documentation at the winner-verification stage under Section 15. Where a Minor Participant is invited to take part in the Ghoulz 1v1 Feature, parental or guardian consent to recording and publication must be obtained before any recording takes place, as set out in Section 20.
4.5 Google account parental controls. Because the Competition is accessed exclusively through Google Sign-In, a Minor Participant's Google Account may be subject to parental supervision through Google's family and parental-control features. Where those controls are in place, Sponsor treats the parent or guardian's administration of that account as evidence of parental awareness and consent to the minor's use of Google Sign-In.
4.6 Prize award to minors. Any prize won by a Minor Participant will be awarded in the name of the Minor Participant but delivered to, and accepted on their behalf by, their parent or legal guardian. Sponsor will request an email address of Minor Participant’s parents to provide relevant verification documentation or information. Sponsor may require proof of parental authority.
4.7 Account holder must be the participant. The participant must be the person to whom the Google Account used for registration belongs. Registering on a Google Account belonging to a parent, sibling or any other person, including to circumvent an age requirement, is a ground for disqualification under Section 18.
4.8 Withdrawal of consent. A parent or legal guardian may withdraw consent and request deletion of their child's data at any time by contacting [email protected]. Withdrawal before prize confirmation results in withdrawal from the Competition and forfeiture of any prize entitlement.
5. PARTICIPANT TYPES: GUEST AND MEMBER
5.1 Guest. A person may play the Game as a Guest without registering for the Competition. Guests are not entered, do not appear on the Competition leaderboard, and are not eligible to win any prize, regardless of the scores they achieve.
5.2 Member (Competition Participant). A person becomes a Competition Participant by signing in with Google Sign-In and completing Competition registration in accordance with Section 6. Only gameplay recorded on a registered, eligible Member account during the Competition Period counts toward the Competition Ranking and prize eligibility.
5.3 Guest gameplay is not retroactively converted into Competition entries. A Guest who later registers as a Member begins accumulating Competition score only from the time registration is completed.
5.4 One account per person. Each participant may register and compete on one Google Account only. Registering or competing on more than one Google Account, sharing a Google Account, or registering on an account belonging to another person is prohibited and is a ground for disqualification of all associated accounts and voiding of all associated scores.
5.5 Multiple browsers and devices. A participant may play from more than one browser or device, provided they sign in with the same Google Account each time. Score attaches to the Google Account, not to the browser or device.
6. HOW TO ENTER
6.1 No purchase or payment is necessary to enter, compete or win. This Competition is intended to operate as a skill-based competition. A purchase of any kind will not improve a participant's chance of winning. Odds of winning depend on each participant’s skill and the number of eligible participants registered.
6.2 To register, a participant must, during the Competition Period:
- Open the Game at https://games.playo.ai/ghoulz/lobby in a supported browser and sign in using Google Sign-In (Section 6.5), then select the Competition registration flow;
- Provide the information listed in Section 7.1, including country of residence and your self-declared age;
- Affirmatively accept these Rules and the required privacy disclosures.
6.3 Registration is complete, and Competition scoring begins, only when all of the above steps have been completed and confirmed by Sponsor's systems.
6.4 Entries that are incomplete, falsified, generated by automated means, or that do not comply with these Rules are void.
6.5 Account and sign-in — Google Sign-In only.
- Google Sign-In is the only method of creating or accessing a Competition account. A valid Google Account is required. No other sign-in method, email/password registration, or third-party login is offered.
- A participant who does not have, or does not wish to use, a Google Account cannot register. Such a person may still play as a Guest under Section 5.1, without prize eligibility.
- On sign-in, Playo receives from Google only the account information necessary to identify the participant — the Google account identifier, the associated email address, and the display name where provided. Playo does not receive the participant's Google password and has no access to the participant's Google Account.
- The participant's Competition identity is bound to the Google Account used at registration. Score, map completions and prize eligibility attach to that account and cannot be transferred.
- Sponsor is not responsible for inability to register or compete because of any Google Account issue outside Sponsor's control, including suspension, deletion, recovery failure, age-related restriction, or loss of access to the associated email address. Use of Google Sign-In is subject to Google's own terms and privacy policy.
- App-store login-parity rules do not apply. Apple's App Review Guideline 4.8 (Login Services) would require an app using a third-party social login — Google Sign-In is named expressly — to also offer an equivalent privacy-preserving option such as Sign in with Apple. That guideline binds apps distributed through the Apple App Store and does not apply to the Game, which is browser-based (Section 1.2).
7. INFORMATION COLLECTED
7.1 At registration, Sponsor generates: nickname; the Google Account identifier and associated email address supplied through Google Sign-In; country of residence, self-declared age; the version of these Rules accepted; the timestamp of acceptance; and privacy consent records.
7.2 During gameplay, Sponsor records: Challenge Map completions; score; Cumulative Challenge Week Score; score timestamps; kill counts; attempt and session data; and anti-cheat and abuse signals.
7.3 Technical and browser data. Because the Game runs in a browser rather than as an installed application, the technical data collected is browser and connection data: browser type and version; operating system; screen and viewport size; language setting; IP address (used for country-level location under Section 3.5 and for abuse prevention); session identifiers; page and request timing; and error and performance diagnostics.
Sponsor does not collect app-store identifiers, mobile advertising identifiers (such as Apple's IDFA or Google's Advertising ID), device hardware identifiers, or precise location.
7.4 From potential winners only, Sponsor may additionally request the following information: legal name; proof of age; proof of country of residence; identity verification; sanctions screening under Section 3.3.
7.5 From the grand prize winner only, Sponsor will additionally require: recipient name, the email address of recipient’s parent or guardian, to provide relevant information or documents verifying that they are recipient’s parent/guardian and the relevant shipping address and delivery contact details.
7.5A From Ghoulz 1v1 Feature invitees only, Sponsor will additionally collect: the invited participant's response to the invitation; an audiovisual recording of the 1v1 session, comprising gameplay footage, the participant's camera video and the participant's voice; and, where the invited participant is a Minor Participant, the email address of their parent or legal guardian and a record of the consent that person gives to recording and publication.
7.6 Sponsor's intention is to collect the minimum information necessary at each stage. Identity documents and residential addresses are not collected from general participants.
7.7 All personal information is handled in accordance with the Ghoulz Competition Privacy Policy at /ghoulz/legal/privacy and the Competition-specific privacy disclosures presented at registration.
8. COMPETITION STRUCTURE — CHALLENGE MAPS
8.1 Four Challenge Maps. During the Challenge Week, Sponsor will release four (4) Challenge Maps (each a “Challenge Map”), on a staggered basis across the Competition Period, announced through the Ghoulz Channel.
8.2 All four Challenge Maps are available to every registered participant. No Challenge Map is restricted to selected players. Every participant competes on the same four maps.
8.3 Sponsor will publish, in the Ghoulz Channel the identity of each Challenge Map and its availability window.
8.4 Availability until close. A Challenge Map released later in the Competition Period remains available until the close of the Competition Period, so that every registered participant has an opportunity to complete all four maps.
8.5 Supported browsers. Sponsor will publish the browsers and minimum versions supported. Sponsor is not responsible for inability to play, or score loss, caused by an unsupported or out-of-date browser, interfering browser extensions, disabled JavaScript or cookies, or an unstable connection.
9. SCORING
9.1 The Competition ranks participants by score, accumulated by playing Challenge Maps.
9.2 Cumulative Challenge Week Score. A participant's Cumulative Challenge Week Score is the sum of that participant's best qualifying score on each of the four Challenge Maps, recorded during the Competition Period on their registered Member account.
A participant may attempt a Challenge Map as many times as they wish during its availability window. Only the participant's highest score on each Challenge Map counts. Lower-scoring attempts on the same map are disregarded. The four best-per-map scores are added together to produce a single Cumulative Challenge Week Score.
9.3 Each score event is recorded with an authoritative server-side timestamp. Those timestamps are used for the tie-breakers in Section 13 and are retained for the period necessary to verify results.
9.4 Server-side validation. Scoring is computed and validated on Sponsor's servers. A score reported by the browser client is provisional until validated server-side; only server-validated scores count. Scores achieved by any means described in Section 18 are void.
9.5 Scores and rankings displayed during the Competition Period are provisional and subject to validation, anti-cheat review and correction until winners are confirmed.
10. PRIZE ELIGIBILITY
10.1 To be eligible to receive any prize, a participant must satisfy all of the following:
- Be validly registered as a Competition Participant pursuant to Section 6, using Google Sign-In, with all required consents in place;
- Meet the minimum age applicable in the participant’s resident country under Section 4.1, and the territory requirements of Section 3, including not being resident in or located in an Excluded Jurisdiction;
- Have accepted these Rules and the required privacy disclosures;
- Have completed at least one full game on every one of the four Challenge Maps during the Competition Period;
- Pass winner verification, lawful jurisdiction for prize delivery, sanctions screening and anti-cheat review under Sections 15 and 18.
10.2 A participant who has not completed all four Challenge Maps is not prize-eligible, regardless of how high their score is. Such a participant is excluded from the Competition Ranking entirely and does not occupy a ranking position.
10.3 A participant who is prize-ineligible is disregarded when the Competition Ranking is compiled, and every eligible participant below them moves up accordingly.
11. PRIZES
11.1 Grand Prize (1 prize). One (1) Nintendo Switch™ 2 console, awarded to the participant ranked first in the Competition Ranking. Approximate retail value: USD $499.99
11.2 Runner-Up Prizes (10 prizes). One (1) USD $50 Roblox® Gift Card awarded to each of the ten (10) participants ranked second through eleventh in the Competition Ranking. Approximate retail value: USD $50 each; USD $500 in aggregate.
Runner-Up Prizes are awarded on the single overall Competition Ranking, not per Challenge Map. There are no per-map prizes. Performance on any individual Challenge Map affects a participant's prize only through its contribution to their Cumulative Challenge Week Score.
11.3 Total prizes: eleven (11). Total approximate retail value: USD $999.99.
11.4 Prizes are personal to the winner, are not transferable, and may not be sold, auctioned or exchanged. No cash alternative is offered except at Sponsor's sole discretion or where required by law.
11.5 Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize with a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable, or cannot practically be delivered for reasons beyond Sponsor's control.
11.6 Roblox Gift Card — conditions and fallback.
- Redemption requires a Roblox account and is subject to Roblox Corporation's own terms of use, account requirements and age requirements. Sponsor does not control and is not responsible for those terms.
- Roblox Gift Cards are issued in specific currencies and denominations and are not available in every country.
- Fallback. Where a Roblox Gift Card cannot lawfully or practically be issued, delivered or redeemed in a winner's country, Sponsor will provide, at its discretion, an alternative digital gift card of equal or nearest available value valid in that country, or a cash equivalent of USD $50 (or nearest local-currency equivalent), paid by a method reasonably determined by Sponsor.
11.7 Sponsor is not responsible for lost, stolen or misdirected gift card codes once delivered to the email address associated with the winner's registered Google Account.
12. COMPETITION RANKING AND PRIZE ALLOCATION
12.1 The Competition Ranking. At the close of the Competition Period, Sponsor compiles a single ranking of all eligible participants, ordered by Cumulative Challenge Week Score, highest first (the “Competition Ranking”). Participants who are not prize-eligible under Section 10 are excluded and do not occupy a position.
12.2 Prize allocation.
- Position 1 (grand prize) — a Nintendo Switch™ 2 console.
- Positions 2 to 11 (runners up) — one USD $50 Roblox® Gift Card each.
- Position 12 and below — no prize.
12.3 Every prize depends on the same ranking. There is no separate per-map ranking and no per-map prize. A participant occupies exactly one position and can receive at most one prize (Section 14).
12.4 The eleventh position is a prize boundary. The difference between position 11 and position 12 is the difference between receiving a prize and receiving none. The tie-breakers in Section 13 apply at that boundary exactly as at position 1.
12.5 Positions are provisional until every affected participant has completed winner verification under Section 15.
13. TIE-BREAKERS
13.1 First tie-breaker — first to reach the score. If two or more eligible participants finish with the same Cumulative Challenge Week Score, the higher position goes to the participant who reached that total score first, determined by the authoritative server-side timestamp of the score event that brought them to the tied total.
13.2 Second tie-breaker. If a tie cannot be resolved under Section 13.1 because the timestamps are identical to the recorded precision, Sponsor will resolve it by the fewest total winning attempts across the four Challenge Maps.
13.3 Where tie-breakers apply. Sections 13.1 and 13.2 apply at every position, including position 1 (which prize is won) and position 11 (whether a prize is won at all).
13.4 Sponsor retains the score-event timestamps needed to apply and evidence these tie-breakers and will apply them consistently to all affected participants.
14. ONE PRIZE PER PARTICIPANT
14.1 Eligible participants may receive only one (1) prize. Because prizes are allocated by position in a single ranking, and each participant occupies exactly one position, no participant can qualify for more than one prize.
14.2 A participant found to be competing on more than one Google Account is disqualified on every such account under Sections 5.4 and 18, all associated scores are voided, those accounts are removed from the Competition Ranking, and every participant below them moves up.
14.3 Effect of removal on the Competition Ranking. Where a participant is removed — because they are ineligible, disqualified, fail verification, or decline their prize — every participant below them moves up one position and prizes are re-allocated under Section 12.2. In particular:
- If the participant at position 1 is removed, the participant previously at position 2 moves to position 1 and receives the Nintendo Switch™ 2 instead of a Roblox Gift Card.
- The participant previously at position 12 moves to position 11 and receives a Roblox Gift Card.
- The process repeats for each removal, subject to the limit in Section 16.3.
14.4 If, after applying Section 14.3, fewer than eleven eligible participants remain in the Competition Ranking, the remaining prizes will not be awarded.
15. WINNER NOTIFICATION AND VERIFICATION
15.1 Potential Winner status. A participant occupying a prize-winning position is a “Potential Winner” only. No participant is a confirmed winner, and no prize is awarded, until verification is complete and Sponsor confirms the award in writing.
15.2 Notification. Sponsor will notify each Potential Winner at the email address associated with the Google Account used for registration, within 7 days after the close of the Competition Period. It is the participant's responsibility to maintain access to that address.
15.3 Response deadline. A Potential Winner must respond and begin verification within 3 days of the date the notification is sent, and complete verification and return all required documentation within 7 days of that date. Where the Potential Winner is a Minor Participant, the response and documentation must come from their parent or legal guardian.
15.4 Verification checks. Before confirming any winner, Sponsor will verify: valid registration; country eligibility, including that the participant is not resident in or located in an Excluded Jurisdiction, with documentary proof of residence where required; sanctions and restricted-party screening under Section 3.3; that the participant holds the registered Google Account and no other Competition account; completion of all four Challenge Maps; server-side validity of the Cumulative Challenge Week Score and its component score events; tie-break timestamps where the position was determined by a tie-breaker; anti-cheat and abuse review and email address of parent/guardian of Minor Participant prize winners for the provision of certain information or documentation described in Sections 4.4 and 4.6.
15.5 Sponsor will request only the documentation necessary for the specific prize and jurisdiction, will handle it in accordance with the Ghoulz Competition Privacy Policy, and will delete identity documents promptly after verification, save where retention is required by law.
16. DISQUALIFICATION, ALTERNATE WINNERS AND UNCLAIMED PRIZES
16.1 A Potential Winner will be disqualified and forfeit any prize entitlement if they:
- fail to respond or complete verification within the deadlines in Section 15.3;
- fail any verification check in Section 15.4, including sanctions screening;
- decline the prize;
- are found to be ineligible under Sections 3, 4, 5 or 10;
- provided false, incomplete or misleading information at any stage, including as to age or country;
- are found to have engaged in any conduct described in Section 18; or
- are a Minor Participant whose parent or legal guardian does not provide the required consent and documentation.
16.2 Alternate winners. Where a Potential Winner is disqualified or forfeits, they are removed from the Competition Ranking and Section 14.3 applies. Any participant who moves into a prize-winning position, or from a runner-up position into position 1, becomes a Potential Winner for the prize attaching to their new position, subject to the same process and deadlines calculated from their own notification.
16.3 Limit on alternate rounds. Sponsor will attempt to award each prize position to a maximum of 3 successive Potential Winners. If a position remains unfilled after that, the prize attaching to it will not be awarded.
16.4 Unclaimed prizes. A prize that is not claimed, or that cannot be awarded because no eligible participant remains, will not be awarded and remains the property of Sponsor.
16.5 Disqualification may, at Sponsor's discretion, extend to removal from the leaderboard, voiding of the participant's scores, and suspension or termination of the participant's Game account under the Terms of Service.
17. PRIZE DELIVERY AND TAXES
17.1 Grand prize fulfilment. Sponsor will deliver the Nintendo Switch™ 2 grand prize based on the confirmed winner's country. Sponsor's method is to purchase the console online from a reputable retailer in or serving the winner's country and arrange local delivery to the verified address. At Sponsor's discretion, and where local purchase and delivery is not practical, Sponsor may instead provide a retailer or platform gift card of equal or greater value enabling the winner to obtain the console locally. The choice between direct delivery and an equivalent gift card is at the Sponsor’s sole determination.
17.2 Regional compatibility and warranty. Console hardware, power supply and manufacturer warranty terms vary by region. Local purchase is intended to avoid regional mismatch. Where that is not possible, Sponsor does not warrant a local manufacturer warranty or that power supply, plug type or regional settings will match those sold locally.
17.3 Delivery failure. If the grand prize cannot be delivered lawfully or within a commercially reasonable time and cost, Sponsor will, at its discretion, substitute a prize of equal or greater value that can be delivered, or provide a cash equivalent of the approximate retail value. Sponsor is not responsible for delays or failures caused by carriers, customs authorities, incorrect address information supplied by the winner, or events beyond Sponsor's control. Sponsor will make 2 delivery attempts; after that the prize is treated as unclaimed under Section 16.4.
17.4 Runner-Up prize delivery. Roblox Gift Card codes are delivered electronically to the email address associated with the winner's registered Google Account, following verification. Where the winner is a Minor Participant, the code is delivered to the verified parent or legal guardian.
17.5 Shipment. Sponsor will pay for shipping the Prize to confirmed winners.
17.6 Taxes, customs and duties. All federal, state, and local taxes, including customs and duties, associated with the receipt or use of any Prize are solely the responsibility of the winner.
17.7 Prizes will be delivered within 60 days of winner confirmation, subject to stock availability and delivery conditions.
18. FAIR PLAY, ANTI-CHEAT AND DISQUALIFICATION
18.1 Participants must play the Game personally, in a supported browser, through the official Game at https://games.playo.ai/ghoulz/lobby . The following are prohibited and are grounds for immediate voiding of scores and disqualification:
- use of bots, macros, scripts, automation, headless browsers, or any unauthorised third-party tool;
- modifying the Game's client-side code, or using browser developer tools, the JavaScript console, userscripts or browser extensions to alter gameplay, game state or score;
- intercepting, replaying, forging or modifying network requests between the browser and Sponsor's servers, including submitting fabricated score events directly to Sponsor's API;
- tampering with cookies, local storage or session tokens to alter identity, progress or score;
- exploiting bugs, glitches, unintended mechanics, or client- or server-side manipulation;
- reverse engineering or decompiling the Game beyond what applicable law expressly permits;
- use of multiple, shared, purchased, transferred or account-farmed Google Accounts;
- having another person play on a participant's behalf, or participating on behalf of another person;
- misrepresenting age, identity, country of residence, Google Account ownership, or parental consent status;
- use of a VPN, proxy or other method to disguise location, including to appear to be outside an Excluded Jurisdiction;
- collusion, score manipulation, or coordinated play intended to affect the Competition Ranking;
- interference with Sponsor's servers, analytics or security systems, including automated scraping or load generation; and
- abusive, harassing, threatening or unlawful conduct toward other participants or Sponsor personnel.
18.2 Sponsor operates automated and manual anti-cheat review, including server-side validation of score events (Section 9.4). Sponsor may, at any time before or after the close of the Competition Period, review any score, session or account, and may void scores, adjust the Competition Ranking and disqualify participants.
18.3 Where practical and where the participant is not suspected of fraud, Sponsor will give a disqualified participant notice and an opportunity to respond before the decision is final.
18.4 Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies from any person who deliberately undermines the operation of the Competition, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
19. LEADERBOARD
19.1 A public leaderboard may be displayed during the Competition Period, showing the Cumulative Challenge Week Score ranking: participant's nickname, their score, and their position.
19.2 The leaderboard will not display real names, the Google Account display name or email address, age, date of birth, postal address, country, or any other information that identifies or could reasonably be used to identify a participant.
19.3 All leaderboard positions are provisional and subject to validation, anti-cheat review and correction. A participant appearing in a prize-winning position is not a winner until confirmed under Section 15.
19.4 Sponsor's working position is that participants may opt out of public leaderboard display at any time without affecting their entry, their position in the Competition Ranking, or their prize eligibility.
19.5 Minors will be excluded from inclusion in the leaderboard and win publication. This exclusion does not apply to the Ghoulz 1v1 Feature. A Minor Participant who, with parental or guardian consent, accepts an invitation under Section 20 may appear in the published recording of that session notwithstanding any leaderboard opt-out.
20. GHOULZ 1v1 FEATURE — SEPARATE AND OPTIONAL
20.1 Mid-competition 1v1 opportunity. Partway through the Competition, Sponsor may, at its sole discretion, offer a select group of participants the opportunity to take part in a 1v1 game with Ghoulz that may be recorded and published as part of a video (the “Ghoulz 1v1 Feature”). To qualify for this opportunity, a participant must be participating in the Competition by no later than the end of the second day (23:59:59 UTC) following the commencement of the Competition (the “1v1 Qualifying Window”). Invitations will be based on the three (3) participants who record the highest number of kills during the 1v1 Qualifying Window. An Invitation is not guaranteed for any participant.
20.2 Response deadline and pass-down. Sponsor will notify each invited participant at the email address associated with the Google Account used for registration. An invited participant must respond within 12 hours of the time the invitation is sent. If a participant does not respond within that 12-hour period, the opportunity passes to the participant with the next-highest number of kills during the 1v1 Qualifying Window (the participant ranked fourth, then fifth, and so on).
20.3 Availability for recording. An invited participant must be available to join the Game for the video recording on 12 hours’ notice.
20.3A What is recorded. The Ghoulz 1v1 Feature is recorded in full and comprises gameplay footage, the participant's camera video, and the participant's voice. Ghoulz may refer to the participant by nickname during the session. No camera video or voice is recorded at any other point in the Competition, and ordinary gameplay outside the 1v1 session is not recorded.
20.3B Third-party platform. The 1v1 session takes place on a third-party communications platform selected by Ghoulz, which receives the participant's camera video and audio and processes it under its own terms and privacy policy. The participant is responsible for ensuring that their use of that platform complies with its terms, including any minimum age requirement. Sponsor does not control that platform and is not responsible for its practices.
20.3C Minor Participants. A Minor Participant may take part in the Ghoulz 1v1 Feature only where their parent or legal guardian has consented by email (or other method requested by Sponsor as part of the invitation process) to the recording, to its publication by Ghoulz, and to the use of the third-party platform. Sponsor will request that consent at the email address supplied for the parent or legal guardian and will take the steps it considers reasonable in the circumstances to satisfy itself that the consent comes from a parent or legal guardian. Sponsor will not record or publish a session involving a Minor Participant in the absence of that consent, and will pass the opportunity down in accordance with Section 20.2 if it is not obtained in time.
20.3D Publication and availability. The recording is published by Ghoulz on Ghoulz's own social media channels. Ghoulz determines independently how the recording is presented and how long it remains available. Sponsor does not control those channels.
20.4 No effect on Competition prizes. Qualification for or participation in the Ghoulz 1v1 Feature does not prevent a participant from winning Competition prizes during the Challenge Week, and has no effect on the Competition Ranking or prize allocation.
20.5 Map selection. Ghoulz selects the map on which the Ghoulz 1v1 Feature is played. That map may be one of the four Challenge Maps, or any other map. The choice is made by Ghoulz alone and is not open to participant selection or challenge.
20.6 The Ghoulz 1v1 Feature is separate from the Competition. It is not a Challenge Map, it does not contribute to any participant's Cumulative Challenge Week Score, and it has no effect on the Competition Ranking or on prize allocation. Its result does not change who wins any prize. It is not part of the Competition in any form.
20.7 Participation in the Competition is never consent to recording or publication. Consent to be recorded and published, if relevant, is obtained separately through a standalone process. It is not bundled into these Rules, the registration flow, or any prize-acceptance document.
20.8 Right to decline. A participant may decline the Ghoulz 1v1 Feature, or withdraw consent before publication, without any effect on any prize they have earned, on their position in the Competition Ranking, or on their standing in the Competition. A participant who declines does not forfeit their grand prize or gift card, as applicable. Consent may also be withdrawn after publication by a participant or, for a Minor Participant, their parent or legal guardian. In that case Sponsor will remove the recording from channels within its control and will employ commercially reasonable efforts to cause its removal from channels that are not.
20.9 If an invited participant declines. Sponsor may, at its discretion, invite the participant with the next-highest number of kills during the 1v1 Qualifying Window in their place. No participant has any entitlement to be invited.
21. PRIVACY
21.1 Personal data collected in connection with the Competition is processed in accordance with the Ghoulz Competition – Privacy Notice, available at /ghoulz/legal/privacy and the Competition-specific privacy disclosures presented at registration, which together describe in full how information is collected, used, shared (including with service providers and via Google Sign-In), retained and transferred internationally.
21.2 We only use Personal data to administer the Competition, verify eligibility and winners, deliver prizes, operate anti-cheat and abuse prevention, develop and improve our services and games, and to comply with legal obligations, and to record and enable Ghoulz to publish the Ghoulz 1v1 Feature where the participant and, for a Minor Participant, their parent or legal guardian have consented. It is not sold, and, other than a Ghoulz 1v1 Feature recording published with consent, is not used for advertising.
21.3 Participants (and parents/guardians of Minor Participants) may exercise their privacy rights, to the extent available under applicable law, as described under the privacy notice.
22. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY AND RELEASE
22.1 By participating, each participant (and, for a Minor Participant, their parent or legal guardian) releases Sponsor and its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, prize suppliers, service providers, and each of their officers, directors, employees and agents from any liability for any loss, harm, damage, cost or expense arising out of participation in the Competition, acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a prize, or any Competition-related activity.
22.2 Sponsor is not responsible for: technical failures of any kind; network, server, browser or software failures; interrupted or unavailable connections; failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed transmissions; lost entries or score data; browser crashes, cleared browser storage, or use of an unsupported browser or interfering extension; failure or unavailability of Google Sign-In or any Google service; or any injury or damage to a participant's device or data related to participation.
22.3 Nothing in these Rules excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages or the waiver of certain rights, so parts of Sections 22.1 and 22.2 may not apply to a given participant.
22.4 By entering, you agree: (a) to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding (without prejudice to your legal rights and remedies available to you under applicable law); (b) to waive any right to claim ambiguity in these Official Rules; (c) that Sponsor, its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, and advertising and promotion agencies, and their respective officers, directors, shareholders, and employees (collectively “Releasees”) are not responsible for lost, damaged, or misplaced registration, incorrect or inaccurate transcription of registration information, or for any human or other error, technical malfunction, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software, inability to access any online service or web site, or any other error or malfunction, or any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person's computer or mobile device related to or resulting from participation in the Competition, or for any injury to person or property; and (d) that the Releasees will not be liable for losses or injuries of any kind resulting from acceptance/possession/use and/or misuse of the prize, participation in the Competition, or printing, mailing or distribution errors (save that liability for injury caused by negligence is not hereby excluded). You further acknowledge that Sponsor does not make any warranties, express or implied, relating to the prize itself and that Sponsor expressly disclaims the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular use.

This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Nintendo Co., Ltd., Nintendo of America Inc., or any of their affiliates. 24.2 Amendment. Sponsor may update and amend these Rules from time to time, including to correct an error or omission, to clarify a provision, to comply with any applicable law, regulation or regulatory requirement, to reflect a change in the way the Competition is operated or administered, or to address any circumstance beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control. Material amendments will be notified in the Ghoulz Channel, with a revised version number and effective date, and continued participation following such notice constitutes acceptance of the amended Rules.
24.3 Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
24.4 Governing law and disputes. The Competition is governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
24.5 Except where prohibited by law, as a condition of participating in the Competition, you agree that any and all disputes and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Competition, or prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, YOU HEREBY WAIVE ALL RIGHTS TO CLAIM PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES AND ANY OTHER DAMAGES, OTHER THAN FOR ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES, AND ANY AND ALL RIGHTS TO HAVE DAMAGES MULTIPLIED OR OTHERWISE INCREASED. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
